Companies seek umbrella contractors with cloud computing skills We read with interest this week the results of a new survey by IT recruitment firm Modis International which indicated that IT umbrella contractors in the cloud computing field will be in high demand over the coming months. The poll, which surveyed 250 IT decisionmakers, found that many think the role of the IT professional has changed in the last year and will continue to do so over the coming 12 months.

Interestingly, a year ago the same survey showed that half of IT decisionmakers questioned felt that there would not be much of a change in what IT specialists were expected to do!

Most notably, the survey found that the process of integrating cloud computing into companies' business systems has taken 'longer than expected' leading Modis MD Jim Albert to comment that 'IT professionals with the relevant skills will continue to find themselves in high demand across the recruitment spectrum'. Which means that IT specialists working through umbrella companies are certainly set to benefit over the coming months!
