Give As You Earn FAQ's
Payroll giving is a simple, tax efficient way to give to charity from your pay. Giving regularly to your favourite charitable cause is an excellent way to reduce your tax liability and help others too. We will pay your deductions to a payroll agency approved by HM Revenue & Customs. The payroll-giving agency then distributes the money to the charity of your choice.
All you need to do is contact your Account Manager who can send you a donations form to complete and then we can arrange everything else for you.
How can I find out if am eligible for this scheme?
All of our contractors are paid strictly through PAYE, so anyone can opt in to donate.
How do I know that my donation has been received by the charity?
Your donation will be very important to the charity and they may well write to you to thank you. All donations, big or small is appreciated by the charities. Otherwise, if you want to check that your donation has been received then you can ask SWCG (South West charitable giving) and they can confirm this for you.
How do I choose which charity to support?
This is a decision that is completely down to you, and is a very personal decision. This may be a large charity such as Cancer Research, or a small cause such as your local church. If you are unsure whether the cause you wish to support is a charity, SWCG can confirm this for you.
Do I have to tell my employer which charity I wish to support?
No, this can remain completely confidential as you can submit your donation request form directly to SWCG and we will just be informed of the amount of your contribution.
Can I change the charities I want to support?
Yes, at any time. All you need to do is let us know. Please remember – charities benefit most from regular donations so try not to change too often.
