A third of UK workers are concerned that their employer will increase the number of days they need to be in the office.

We’re now five years on from the pandemic, and while home working became the new norm, as the years have gone by, more companies seem eager to get their staff back into the office.

And at the same time, many workers have got used to working from home and taking advantage of the perks that come with it.

The ClickOut Media survey found that 30% of employees would consider turning down a job if it required them to come into the office more than three times a week.

In fact, over a third said they’d prefer four or even five days working from home a week. The most common reasons given for this are:

  • Avoiding the commute
  • Spending less money on travelling and food
  • Having the ability to manage personal tasks
  • Having fewer interruptions

Neil Roarty, Gambling Head Analyst at ClickOut Media, said, “This survey emphatically demonstrates that flexible, remote work is no longer a perk, it’s a core expectation.

“Businesses that cling to outdated, rigid office policies are not only risking talent acquisition, but they’re also fundamentally misreading the modern workforce.”
