Umbrella company contractors working in the automotive industry will be pleased to learn that the sector has been experiencing significant growth in job opportunities.
The recent report, carried out by Recruitive, found that there was a continued rise in the number of automotive job roles advertised during September.
Earlier this year, a report published by SMMT revealed that UK car production achieved a 17-year high in 2016 – with the trend clearly continuing this year and opening up further opportunities for those working in the sector.
SMMT also found that 1,722,698 vehicles rolled off production lines last year from some 15 manufacturers – an 8.5% uplift on total production in 2015 and the highest output since 1999.
Carla Fern, operations director at Recruitive, commented on their recent findings, “September saw the highest rise of automotive job vacancies advertised via our recruitment software, beating the previous record, held in December 2016, by an astonishing five percent.”
She added, “A huge 15 per cent of UK exports come from the automotive industry; the number of cars exported in 2016 was at an all time record high to which the majority end up in Europe. Whilst the prospect of trade tariff still looms, it will be interesting to see what happens to the number of vacancies within the sector over the last quarter of 2017.”
