The latest Bank of Scotland Report on Jobs has, like many other recent reports, indicated further growth with contractor and temporary staff appointments.
According to the findings, growth of contractor billings is at its highest level since January.
Findings also show that temp hourly wages increased for the third consecutive month and at the strongest pace in 2013 so far.
Donald MacRae, Chief Economist at Bank of Scotland, explained further, "May’s barometer showed a strong improvement in Scottish labour market conditions. The number of people placed into both permanent and temporary jobs rose in the month while vacancies increased across most sectors.
“These results provide further evidence that business confidence is slowly being restored enabling the Scottish economy to record much sought-after growth during 2013.”
A number of reports have found very similar results as the Bank of Scotland, proving that the world of contracting is extremely lucrative as of lately.
The recent Recruitment and Employment Confederation and KPMG Report on Jobs found that despite last month’s slight blip in contractor billings, this month has shown a considerable rise.
Other research revealing great news for umbrella company contractors is the latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey, which found that more UK employers are planning to increase their staffing levels within the next few months.
