The votes were counted at the end of December 2011, the nominations verified, so the very best – and worst – of an eventful 12 months in IT contracting were revealed by Contractor UK. The awards remain a barometer of IT contracting (since being introduced in 2006), offering newcomers and veteran contractors alike a comprehensive rundown of the very best service providers to freelance IT professionals. The identities of the winners emerged after the website’s readers and forum members voted in their thousands during December 2012 to pick their marketplace heroes of the year.
As in previous years, the contractor's have been asked to provide independent votes on a series of different categories, including "Best Umbrella Company". Contractor Umbrella are proud to have been awarded the Runner Up for the "Best Umbrella Company" award in 2012. This year the umbrella category involved more than a dozen separate payroll providers, much more competition than in previous years.
This year we are also to congratulate our sister company, SJD Accountancy once again on winning the award for "Best Accountant". The chartered firm that has held the title of ‘Best Accountant’ every year since winning it in the inaugural awards of 2006.
