According to an expert in the information security field, IT contractors with specialist skills, could soon be commanding salaries as high as professional footballers. The Russian expert, Eugene Kaspersky, certainly knows his stuff being the founder of Kaspersky Lab, which is an anti-virus and anti-spyware firm.  He made his comments whist visiting the Home Office’s Minister for Security, James Brokenshire. Mr Kaspersky said of IT security experts, “There aren't enough of them. These experts are going to become the new footballers. Governments have to recognise this as a big problem.”

The government is currently putting in plans to get more young people interested in cyber security as a career choice. Stephanie Daman, the head of the government-funded organisation, Cyber Security Challenge UK, explained, "We need kids with raw talent in things like problem solving.

"One of the most important messages we need to get across is that cyber security is a proper career and it is not just for geeks. We need to get away from that image and encourage a much broader range of people to get involved in this area because the country is desperately short of them and we need more women."

Umbrella company contractors with these highly sought out skills, could very well look forward to a rise in demand as well as an extremely generous rate of pay.
