A new report has revealed that vacancies in HR are in high demand with figures showing roles are up by 13.5% on 2021.

According to the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) research, using data provided by Vacancysoft, it is internal recruiters who are most wanted – 35% of all HR vacancies so far this year have been for these specific roles.

At 14%, training/learning is the second largest attribute being recruited for.

Looking at the different sectors recruiting for HR, technology was at the top with 17.5% (3994 vacancies so far) followed by retail with 16.8% (3833 roles).

Unsurprisingly, London was the most in demand region for HR vacancies – so far this year there have been 8995 vacancies from the capital, accounting for 39.6% of the total HR roles posted.

Ann Swain, CEO of APSCo, commented on the findings, “As the UK’s economic pressures mount, a decline in vacancies is to be expected. However, since the UK remains in the grips of a skills shortage, hiring teams and recruitment professionals alike will continue to be in high demand.

“While HR will have a key part to play in narrowing the skills gap, we will also need to call on the country’s policymakers to implement an internationally viable approach to boosting the UK’s access to skills, alongside building a more attractive entry route into the country for highly skilled self-employed professionals.”
