Majority of professionals believe employers should be allowed to ask staff if they’re vaccinated

Despite three-quarters of professionals believing that employers should be able to query whether staff have had their Covid vaccination, only a third have asked.

The CV-Library survey of 2,000 UK professionals also revealed that nearly 60% said they think recruiters should be able to ask this question during the interview process.

Lee Biggins, CEO and founder of CV-Library, commented, “While the majority of UK professionals are happy to be asked about their vaccination record, it’s an incredibly emotive and divisive subject. It’s vital that businesses tread carefully to avoid discrimination.”

“As businesses navigate these unchartered waters, keeping staff safe must be the priority. With the ONS announcing the number of job vacancies has peaked at over 1 million for the first time ever and employee numbers are back at pre-pandemic levels, it’s also important that staff members – current or prospective – don’t feel ostracised regarding their decisions over the vaccine.”
