A recent study has shown that although many IT professionals are keen to pursue a career in cloud computing, a large number are not sure on how to gain the skills in order to do so.

The latest research from online IT recruitment company, CWJobs.co.uk, found that of those surveyed, almost three quarters (71%) did not know how to go about acquiring these skills, although 61% indicated that they have every intention of adding cloud computing to their list of specialist skills.

IT contractors might be interested to hear that many of the respondents (71%) believe that the job opportunities in the future will involve more work with cloud and 51% said that having the cloud skill-set will result in them becoming a more attractive candidate.

CWJobs Website Director, Richard Nott, said, "It is clear cloud is having a positive impact on the IT job market, the majority of professionals think there will be more jobs requiring cloud-computing skills in the future.

"The value of these developments however, will be lost unless the industry works to promote opportunities for training and further development, necessary to ensure Britain has a workforce equipped with the skills to fulfil vacancies.

"With clouds' continued development in mind, this makes promoting cloud careers even more important, to ensure Britain's position as a leader in the technology industry.”
