Umbrella company contractors working in the motor industry will be pleased to hear that Japanese car manufacturer Nissan, has announced that it will be creating over 1,000 job opportunities in the North-East.

Nissan will be building its new family hatchback in its large assembly plant in Sunderland, which will create 225 jobs and then around 900 at supplier companies around the North-East.

Prime Minister David Cameron said of the announcement, ‘‘It is fantastic news that Nissan will be building its new hatchback model in the UK and that it expects to create more than 1,000 jobs at the Sunderland plant and in the supply chain across the country.

“It’s proof of the strength and vitality of the British manufacturing industry that leading companies like Nissan are expanding their production in the UK.

‘‘Nissan’s investment in the UK is a huge vote of confidence in the skills and flexibility of the UK workforce.”

Umbrella company contractors who specialise in the industry will also be pleased to hear that the automotive manufacturing company, Calsonic Kansei (which is a supplier to Nissan) will be creating additional jobs of more than 140 also at its North-East plant, in Sunderland.

Washington and Sunderland West MP Sharon Hodgson said, “The investment in Calsonic Kansei is yet more good news for motor manufacturing in Sunderland, and a further endorsement of the quality of local workmanship by multinational companies.”

This is great news for umbrella company contractors working in both the industry and the Sunderland area, as there has been a surge of job opportunities for the motor industry, with announcements recently coming from Nissan, Calsonic Kansei, Vantec and SNOP
