If you're one of the seven million permanent UK workers who have admitted to being unhappy in your current job, then joining the contracting community might just be for you.
A recent report carried out by CV-Library revealed that over half of workers surveyed (54%) are planning to make changes next year with regards to their career.
Interestingly, almost a third (30%) of workers said that the thought of returning to work in January made them feel unhappy.
Of those who said that they'll be changing jobs in the New Year, nearly half (46%) said that this will be their main priority in 2016.
Lee Biggins, founder and managing director of CV-Library, commented on the latest findings, “It’s unfortunate that a huge proportion of the UK’s professionals are unhappy in their jobs. However, there is no escaping the fact that, as a result of this unhappiness, many employees will be looking for a new job in the New Year.
“With workers choosing to leave their jobs in 2016 in the knowledge that they hold all the cards, employers have a challenge ahead of them when it comes to January. Now is the time for businesses to have a close look at their retention strategies; if not, they could find themselves losing talented workers. They should also be ready to make the most of the January job-hunt boom, as it could be a real opportunity to on-board skilled professionals.”
