Umbrella company contractors will be pleased to hear that recent findings have revealed that many of the UK’s SME’s are planning to hire additional workers.
According to findings from Opus Energy, as many as 15% of the UK’s small and medium sized businesses are expected to increase their headcount by as much as 10%.
A further 10% said that they are looking to grow their number of staff by up to a fifth. This is great news for self-employed and permanent workers alike, as more SME’s look to take advantage of those with the right skills.
Andy Nash, Operations Director for Opus Energy, commented, “January is a good time to start looking for a new role as it gives a purpose to the start of the year. Employers want great people who are committed to their cause of driving the business forward and most importantly employees who will remain loyal. This is even truer in small enterprises, as growth and success can come more quickly, allowing job seekers to get under the skin of the business and start with a bang.
He added, “Showcasing key skills within a CV and during the interview process and specifically how these skills will immediately help the business is essential – and job hunters shouldn’t be afraid to be confident in demonstrating how they would do this.”
