Tax credit customers have less than a month to renew

Those who are entitled to tax credits are being reminded that they have until the 31^st of July to renew, otherwise, their payments will stop.

HMRC says that there are still 323,700 people who need to renew their tax credits – renewing online is quick and easy and you can log into GOV.UK to check on the progress of your renewal.

Those who claim tax credits must ensure that they inform HMRC of any changes that may affect tax credit payments, such as:

• Living arrangements
• Childcare
• Working hours
• Income (either an increase or decrease)

Myrtle Lloyd, HMRC’s Director General for Customer Services, said, “There’s just one month to go for our tax credits customers to renew. It’s easy to do online or on the HMRC app – search ‘tax credits’ on GOV.UK.”

Tax credits help working families with targeted financial support – so it’s important to renew before the deadline to ensure you don’t miss out on money you’re entitled to.
