What is Cyber Essentials?
Cyber Essentials is a government-backed and industry-supported scheme with the aim of helping organisations to protect themselves against common online threats.
Although cyber threats come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, ultimately, the vast majority are very basic in nature with Cyber Essentials describing these relatively unskilled individuals as being ‘the digital equivalent of a thief trying your front door to see if it’s unlocked’.
Cyber Essentials helps businesses by showing them how to prevent the most common attacks.

With latest figures revealing that one in five businesses have been victims of a cyber attack in the last year, it’s never been as important as it is now to put defences in place against these threats.
Being Cyber Essentials certified will not only help to guard us against cyber attacks, but shows our commitment to cyber security and that we’re taking the essential precautions against such threats.
